where do you stand?!?!
i recently attended a seminar put on by my chiropractor about raising healthy kids. it really was great and i feel that i learned quite a bit. as far as "all natural" goes i do lean towards more organic foods as well as wholesome food choices for my family. so i feel i am doing pretty well in that department but could always freshen up a bit! ( yes, my kids do get happy meals and such on occasion ) ;) anyway, this time the seminar was leaning more towards antibiotics, fevers and vaccinations. this is definitely a heated subject among many people but i was just curious how all of you mommy's out there feel about this regarding your own kids.
i am one that does not give my child a does of motrin at the slightest "warm feeling" of a fever. i try to let the fever do it's trick ( if you will ). i do, however bring them into the dr. if i feel something is wrong after a day or two of a fever and really do not have an issue giving them an antibiotic if the dr. thinks it is necessary. should i think about it more before loading them up with antibiotics? all three of my kids are up to date on their immunizations and have ( knock on wood ) not had any serious side effects from them. after listening to many facts about vaccinations at the seminar i really feel that i could be pulled in the direction of not wanting them any more.
hmmmm ..... what is your take on it? do you think all of the vaccines are necessary? do you let your child's illness run it's course or give them antibiotics?

weekend getaway
jeeze, i feel like i have been MIA from my blogging world lately! the days have definitely been getting away from me this past week!
anywho ... we decided to take advantage of the long weekend and take a trip up to Minnesota to visit our friends. it's always a great time no matter what we decide to do. this time around we just kind of "chilled out". the kiddies played, the four adults rented some movies and had great conversations with LOTS of LAUGHS, ate some yummy food and did a little shopping! usually i snap a ton of pics and this time around i didn't even do that ... wth?!?! it was relaxing to say the least so i just soaked it all in! btw ... we went from spring like weather here to below zero there, i don't know what we were thinking! oh well, all in good fun, right!?!

.... and now the truth!
yesterday i posted truth & lies and today here is the truth!!!!
1. I love watching the History Channel.
sorry, but oh so boring to me!!!! my hubs loves this channel and it puts me to sleep! ;)
2. I love loading the dish washer several times a day.
the truth!!!! i cannot stand dirty dishes all over the counter and we have a lot of dishes
around here!!! all i can say is thank goodness for dishwashers because if this said i love doing dishes by hand ... now that would be a lie! LOL
3. I love meatloaf.
never have been a fan of meatloaf! i remember not liking it when i was little and i still can't
bring myself to eat it! ick!
4. I am a little obsessed with keeping my house picked up.
lol ... well this use to be 110% true but not anymore! having 3 kiddos made me realize this
is next to impossible! i do pick up, don't get me wrong, but i am happy having a "lived" in house with toys scattered about! i wouldn't have it any other way! ;)
5. I love a McDonald's cheeseburger.
who doesn't love a McDonald's cheeseburger? ME! maybe i just have a thing with hamburger
in general ( referring back to #3 ) but there is something about fast food burgers that kind of grosses me out! WIERD I KNOW .... LOL :)
How fun! Let's do it again! :)

thursday thoughts
You Are My I Love You
I am your parent, you are my child
I am your quiet place, you are my wild
I am your calm face, you are my giggle
I am your wait, you are my wiggle
I am your audience, you are my clown
I am your London Bridge, you are my falling down
I am your Carrot Sticks, you are my licorice
I am your dandelion, you are my first wish
I am your water wings, you are my deep
I am your open arms, you are my running leap
I am your way home, you are my new path
I am your dry towel, you are my wet bath
I am your dinner, you are my chocolate cake
I am your bedtime, you are my wide awake
I am your finish line, you are my race
I am your praying hands, you are my saving grace
I am your favorite book, you are my new lines
I am your nightlight, you are my sunshine
I am your lullaby, you are my peek-a-boo
I am your kiss goodnight, you are my I love you
